Day 1:Breakfast. Departure towards Transylvania. There are over 50 castles, fortresses and fortified churches on these ancient lands! We invite you to discover the top three most beautiful of all, Bran Castle – better known as Dracula’s Castle, Peles Castle – former royal residence, an architectural jewel and Rasnov Fortress – one of the best preserved peasant fortress of Transylvania with a breathtaking view over the Brasov region! Prahova Valley and Brasov, where are these wonderful sights located, is also one of the most beautiful mountain regions of Romania! In the evening we will walk on the medieval charming streets of Brasov! Dinner and overnight in Brasov
Day 2:Breakfast. In this second day we will go further into Transylvania and we will visit Fagaras Town, the politico-administrative center of these lands in the past. The main attraction is Fagaras Fortress, surrounded by a moat, is is the only fortress of its kind in Romania. From 1948 until 1960 the castle was used as a prison. In one its towers of the castle was “The Iron Lady”, a medieval torture device. The castle is hosting now Fagaras Country Museum dedicated to local history and municipal library.
Next, we go towards Sibiu which is the heart of Germanic Transylvania known as Hermannstadt. We visit Brukenthal National Museum, the Large Square which is the historic center of Sibiu, the Little Square which is the second largest historic place of Sibiu, the Evangelic Church, the Liars’ Bridge, the Ethnographic Museum. Dinner and overnight in Sibiu
Day 3:We start the last day by visiting Hunedoara. We cannot come here and not visit Corvin Castle - Hunyadi Castle. Located in the city of Hunedoara Corvin Castle, also called Hunyadi Castle dates from the XIV- XV, one of the most famous owner was none other than Iancu de Hunedoara, the great defender of Christianity before the Ottoman invasion .The castle has elements of Gothic , Neo- Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque. Then, on our way to Bucharest, we stop at Târgu Jiu , the capital of Gorj County in the Oltenia region of Romania and home of important works of nationally and internationally known artist and sculptor Constantin Brancusi. He made his career in France and was considered a pioneer of modernism, one of the most influential sculptors of the 20th-century, BrâncuČ™i is called the patriarch of modern sculpture. Formal studies took him first to Bucharest, then to Munich, then to the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris from 1905 to 1907. At Targu Jiu you will see some of his most important pieces of art, "Table of Silence", "The Gate of the Kiss" and "Endless Column" which commemorate the courage and sacrifice of Romanian's who in 1916 defended Târgu Jiu from the forces of the Central Powers.
Late in the evening we arrive in Bucharest.
