Two full days to explore Tortuguero National Park and Tortuguero Village. Round trip transportation to and from San Jose.Day 1: San Jose to Tortuguero National Park (Lunch, Dinner)
Early morning transfer (shared with other guests) from your from your hotel to Tortuguero National Park. Transfers from San Jose will be in a van, or on a small airplane if you’ve chosen to fly.
You will have the opportunity to observe several species during your boat rides through the backwater creeks of Tortuguero National Park.
Upon arrival at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens, join a 4pm walk in the gardens with a naturalist guide, hike the trails behind the lodge on your own (be sure to be out of the forest by 4:45pm) or slip into a hammock set between the rainforest and the river.
Dinner and overnight at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens, river view downstairs terrace room.
Day 2: Tortuguero (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner)
Join an early morning bird and nature walk. At 6am one of the naturalist guides will be waiting you in reception, return to the lodge by 7am.
After breakfast, leave the lodge by boat (shared with other guests) with your naturalist guide to explore the creeks of the National Park.
This tour is a three hour trip into the back water lagoons and creeks of Tortuguero National Park.
In the afternoon, your guide will take you on a tour of the village of Tortuguero.
You are also welcome to join the words adventure program where you help local kids learn English (free, but reservations are recommended) or join a 4pm walk in the gardens.
Dinner and overnight at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens.
Day 3: Tortuguero to San Jose (Breakfast)
After breakfast, transfer (shared with other guests) back to San Jose.
Note: When traveling by boat within Costa Rica a maximum of 30 pounds of luggage is allowed per person.
