A great 3-day getaway into the peaceful countrysides of Chiang Rai where we cycle a total of 73mi (118km) over the course of three days, exploring the famous Golden Triangle and other natural and historic attractions along the way. This Golden Triangle Adventure Tour by Bike is a wonderful way to explore the famous area known as Sop Ruak, the official center of the Golden Triangle. It is here in Chiang Rai where the Nam Ruak and Mekong rivers meet, and where the area has for centuries served as the crossroads for border trade between Thailand, Burma and Laos.
We start the trip from Chiang Rai, the most northerly of all the 76 Thai provinces, and cycle north towards our hotel, which is located on the beautiful Mekong River. After checking into our hotel we head out for a cool afternoon ride through the scenic countryside and to the ancient river town of Chiang Saen.
We set out after breakfast the next morning and visit the Opium Museum which documents the history of opium trade. We then follow the Mekong River towards Chiang Khong, taking in expansive views over the Mekong, the natural border that separates Thailand from Laos. Our third and final day we ride west towards Chiang Rai to areas usually overlooked by most visitors, and experience true Thai village life on the way.
We cycle a total of 73mi (118km) over the course of three days, and will be fully supported by an air-conditioned vehicle that has been specially modified for cycle tours. The vehicle follows us the whole time and it is very easy to get bikes on and off, so you can rest when you are tired and cycle whenever you feel like it.
This 3-Day/2-Night tour includes breakfast-2, lunch-3 and dinner-2
