Day1: Bucharest - Danube Delta
In the morning departure from Bucharest towards the Danube Delta. Enjoy the beautiful sunset by the Danube. The great Danube River flows 1,788 miles from its springs in Germany’s Black Forest to the Black Sea. Just before reaching the sea it forms the second largest and best preserved of Europe's deltas: 2,200 square miles of rivers, canals, marshes, tree-fringed lakes and reed islands. The Danube Delta is a wildlife enthusiast’s (especially a bird watcher’s) paradise. Without doubt, the impressive range of habitats and species which occupy a relatively small area makes the Danube Delta a vital center for biodiversity in Europe, and a natural genetic bank with great value for the global natural heritage. Dinner and Overnight in the Danube Delta at a 3 star hotel.
Day 2: Danube Delta
Breakfast. I the morning you will embark on a journey by boat along one of Danube’s canals. Some 300 species of birds make Danube’s Delta their home, including cormorants, white tailed eagles and glossy ibises. The bird watching season lasts from early spring to late summer. Birds are not the only inhabitants of the Delta. There is also a rich community of fish and animals, from wildcats, foxes and wolves, to even an occasional boar or deer. Altogether, 3,450 animal species can be seen here, as well as 1,700 plant species.Lunch. Free time, Dinner an overnight at a 3 star hotel.
Day 3: Danube Delta - Bucharest
Breakfast. Today you can choose from one of the optional activities available for you at an extra cost or just take some time to relax before departure. Based on availability you can choose from a fishing trip , Macin wine tasting, Enisala fortress ruins visit, or other activities. The village of Enisala is the site of a fortress dominating nearby lakes (previously gulfs) of Razelm and Babadag. Dated to the late 13th or the beginning of the 14th century, it was built to control the travel routes that passed through the region.
The Danube Delta area, like other regions in Romania, boasts a variety of wine regions. The Dobrogea vines currently cover just over 25,000 hectares. They are joined together in several vineyards that should by all means be included in any Bacchic quest. At Macin Winery you can find many wine varietes like Aligoté, Fetească Regală, Fetească Albă, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat Ottonel, Tămâioasă Românească, Riesling Italian, Chardonnay, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Shiraz, Fetească Neagră, Viognier and you can enjoy some of them during a wine tasting. Lunch. Transfer to Bucharest.
