The Serengeti is famed for its incredible wildlife, stunning views and the annual migration of over 1.5 million wildebeest and hundreds of thousands of zebras. In this frenzied bout of territorial conquests and mating, witness an actual survival of the fittest as these animals plunge through crocodile-infested waters. The wildebeest will birth more than 8,000 calves daily before the 1,000 km (600 mile) pilgrimage begins again.
Your dinner and overnight will be at the Serengeti public campsite.
Overnight: Serengeti Campsite (shared toilet)
Day 3 : Ngorongoro Crater - Arusha (B/L)
Rise early and drive to Ngorongoro for the crater tour. The jewel in Ngorongoro's crown is a deep, volcanic crater, the largest unflooded and unbroken caldera in the world. About 20kms across, 600 meters deep and 300 sq kms in area, the Ngorongoro Crater is a breathtaking natural wonder. Visit Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the south western corner, which is one of the main features of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos and other water birds can usually been seen here!
Head back to Arusha late afternoon and arrive in the evening where you will be dropped off at your hotel.
