Your journey today takes you across the Marrakai floodplains of the Adelaide River and on into Kakadu. Learn about the important wetland habitats at your visit to Mamukala. Browse through the Bowalli Vistor Centre before viewing ancient Aboriginal rock art at Ubirr. Take in the spectacular scenery as you climb atop the rocky outcrop for majestic views of the Arnhemland sandstone plateau. Join the Guluyambi Cultural cruise on the East Alligator River to gain an amazing insight into local customs and Dreamtime stories from the local Indigenous guide. You may be lucky enough to see a few Crocodiles! Travel to the permanent campsite at Djarradjin Billabong.
Day 2 Kakadu, Twin & Jim Jim Falls (B,L,D)
Time for a a spot of real 4 Wheel Driving today as your group travels out towards Jim Jim and Twin Falls. After crossing the Jim Jim creek, arrive at Twin Falls and cruise through the gorge, admiring the towering escarpment from the sandy beach. En route back to Jim Jim, have an early lunch and walk to the Budjimi lookout for spectacular views of the escarpment walls. Arriving at Jim Jim Falls, walk through the monsoon forest and enjoy an invigorating swim in the plunge pool. Return late afternoon back to camp at Djarradjin Billabong.
Day 3 Kakadu - Darwin (B,L)
Rise early to ensure you dont miss out. Visit the Warradjan Cultural Centre as you make your way to Maguk for yet another hike and refreshing swim. On your journey back to Darwin, we pass White Lily Billabong, home to a huge variety of birdlife. Return to your Darwin accommodation between 6 and 7pm.
