Embark on a nice trek into the Colca Canyon, which includes the opportunity to visit all the small villages down at the canyon. You will have the great opportunity to fish at the Colca River and take a dip at the natural hot springs. This trek is not very demanding, and you will walk almost 4 hours per day. It is for people who enjoy nature and meeting local people.
Day 1:
The first day begins with a very early morning start. At 3am you will be picked up from your hotel by a representative of our agency, and then you will transferred to the bus station to take the bus to Cabanaconde. Start the journey with a drive that goes over a pass that is over 4,800m /15,748 ft tall. We will arrive in Cabanaconde at around 8am.
Upon arrival, we will have time to have breakfast at the little village of Cabanaconde. Afterwards we will start to descend to the canyon, following a winding path that goes down to the bottom until we reach the village of Llahuar around 1pm. At this village we will have some free time to explore some parts of the Colca Canyon, and afterwards we will have lunch and dinner under a starry night. There will be time for a hot springs activity or fishing opportunity. Overnight accommodations at the village of Llahuar.
Day 2:
After breakfast we will continue our trek throughout the Canyon until reaching the village of Paclla and the Natural Lookout point of Apachetas. This place is compiled of stone heaps placed on one another, in a vertical way, used by Andean people as signals or road markings. We will walk for about 4 hours until we arrive at the gorgeous and peaceful town of Sangalle, where we will have lunch. In the afternoon, visitors may go for a swim in a nice pool called The Oasis, or go on a walk to the Colca river. By night we will have dinner and make a fire. Overnight accommodations at the village of Sangalle.
Day 3:
Rise early for breakfast before starting the ascent to Cabanaconde. You will have enough time to go for a short walk and explore the village. We will take the bus to Cruz del Condor (Condor Crossing) to see majestic condors flying through the canyon, so be sure to bring your camera. Lunch will be in Chivay where you can soak in the hot springs of "La Calera" at 36 degrees Celsius. We will arrive back in Arequipa in the late afternoon or evening.
