This is a 3-hour private guided tour wandering through the back street areas, where the old resident and wet market is. Your guide will pick you up at the lobby of your downtown hotel at your convenience. Head to the old town with public transportation. First stop is the Yuyuan Garden, located in the center of the old town.
Wander through this 16th century garden for approximately 40 minutes, then go to see the old town bazaar. There will be a lot of local traditional food and craft in the bazaar, such as the famous Shanghai Steam Dumpling and paper cutting.
After half an hour of wandering through the market, you'll head to the back alley and the wet market, where local shops do their daily cooking. Tour will end at the Bird and Flower Market. Your guide will help you with a taxi or subway if you need.
