The airport is located on the Kenyan Coast about 10mm from the City of Mombasa on a North Westerly direction. Moi International Airport grew from what was known as Port Reitz Airport, which was constructed during the Second World War to serve as military airfield accommodating DC-3. Upon realizing the tourism potential of the Coast Region, the Government of Kenya decided in the early 70s to expand the Port Reitz airport in order to accommodate a larger aircraft that would enable bigger passenger numbers to come to Mombasa. It has since continued to grow in terms of facilities, as well as passenger figures, and are currently close 1 million passengers a year, with the potential to handle slightly over 2 million passengers a year.

This tour is famous for beach lovers who wish to combine it with a few days on safari. It also gives you an option to start first with a safari, and then end with a beach holiday extension. For those who are not doing any beach holiday, but want to start and end in Nairobi, will get a discount, depending on available flight tickets (ranging from USD$50-USD$120).
Itinerary:
Day 1 - Beach Hotel - Masai Mara
Have early morning breakfast in your hotel, and at 6:30am, meet our tour leader at the hotel reception. Transfer to the airport for a morning flight to Masai Mara, departing at 7:30am. You will be met at the airstrip by the lodge or tented camp by the driver and guide for a transfer with a short game drive en route, arriving in time for check in. Relax at the lodge before lunch. Embark on an afternoon game drive in search of game with dinner and spend overnight at your lodge or tented camp. Note: during confirmation we shall discuss options available.
Day 2 - Full Day Masai Mara
Spend a full day on a game drive with all meals and an overnight stay at your lodge/camp. You will have a liberty to choose how to spend the day, like you can opt to have an early morning breakfast, then depart for a full day game drive with picnic lunch, giving you more time to explore the vast Masai Mara. Return back to the lodge/tented camp at your pace, but by 6:30pm. This day is also reserved to visit Masai village or Balloon safaris for those who wish to attend for USD$20 and USD$450 respectively.
Day 3: Masai Mara - Mombasa
Embark on an early morning and mid-morning game drive. Have lunch at the lodge/camp and be transferred to Mara Airstrip for your flight back to Mombasa. Met the tour leader at the airport and be transferred back to your hotel, arriving early in the evening.
