While appreciating the beautiful temple you will also learn the famous Chinese thinker, educator, and philosopher – Confucius’s life and some of the well know Confucius’s culture.
On every weekends if it is nice weather, you will also have the chance to see the largest trading market for the second handbooks. After that your guide will lead you walk around the very old neighborhood to understand and learn the local’s real life here in Shanghai and some of the famous Shanghai old style “Shiku-men” architecture which was the popular living houses for an up-middle class families dated back to 1920-1930’s. Then you will be guided to visit the largest Bird & flower markets in Shanghai, the range of animals here was simply astounding, they had crickets (lined up singularly in boxes and chirping loudly), swarms of fish, rabbits, kittens, dogs, birds in a variety of stunning colors and sizes, hamsters, mice, guinea pigs, chinchillas, turtles, frogs or tadpoles, and even boxes of live slithering worms as feed for the aves.
