This 2-hour "Vertically Inclined” Outdoor Rope Rappel Clinic is great for beginners and adventurous families looking to learn basic skills in vertical rappelling.
Instruction is focused on teaching beginners the basics of rock rappelling, or for those who have climbed in gyms and want to make the transition to the outdoor environment. Introduction to the technical equipment, body position, brake hand and verbal commands are covered.
After you're fitted with a helmet and harness with a safety leash, hike up a steep trail to the top of a 6m high rock wall. Clipping into a hand-line, you'll move into position for a belayed rappel descent. The second rope is controlled by the instructor as an additional safety belay (like having a second steering wheel for driver training!).
You'll be coached and encouraged throughout the process by a trained rock instructor as you make your way down the rock wall and progress from easy sloped descents to more challenging free-hanging drops!
Price includes one-on-one instruction and all technical equipment. All participants must sign a Liability Waiver.
