This weekend trip from Oxford takes you to stunning regions of Cumbria and Lake District, giving you a chance to admire some of the most beautiful natural scenery in England.You will depart from Oxford on Saturday morning after which you will head up north to Cumbria and will arrive in the Lake District in the afternoon.
The Lake District in Cumbria is regarded as one of the most beautiful places in England and this weekend trip will give you the opportunity to explore some of the great outdoors this area is renowned for.
Over the course of the weekend you will explore the area and its many splendid natural sights, including Lake Windermere and Coniston Water. At Ullswater you have a chance to take the paddle steamer boat from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding (own expense).
On Sunday, subject to the weather, the adventurous will be able to walk amongst the spectacular mountain scenery of Wastwater, dubbed as 'Britain's favourite view', and Scafell Pike, the highest mountain in England, before returning back to Oxford in the evening.
