Day 1
Early in the morning, your private chauffeur will pick you up from your hotel. You will then be driven in a clean new Toyota Innova towards Agra on the Old Agra Highway. Enroute, you will visit the Bear Rescue Centre where sloth bears - captured and forced into dancing - have been rescued and rehabilitated. While this practice is not allowed anymore, there was a time when these bears were treated cruelly by their owners. The centre and its experts now work on rehabilitation of both the bear and the owner through alternate means of income. After spending a couple of hours with the bears, you would be driven to Agra for an overnight in the city of the Taj Mahal. Agra is famous as the home to one of the Seven modern Wonders of the World – the Taj Mahal. This city having been the capital of the Mughal dynasty for over hundred years till 1650 there are many Mughal monuments of repute.
Day 2
Early in the morning, you will visit the Taj Mahal. The best time to visit the monument is during this time as the you can see the Taj Mahal change colour with the sun and you will not be too bothered by the crowds. After visiting the Taj Mahal, you would return to your hotel for breakfast and the check out to return to Delhi. Enroute, you will visit the Elephant Rescue Centre to spend time with the gentle giants. All elephants have been rescued from cruel circus practices or careless owners. The elephants are now free and cannot be forced to do anything that they do not want. Even to get them to do walks, or to bathing pools, or to eat, the experts have to incentivize them rather than coerce. You would then return to Delhi and continue on the rest of your journey.
