This 2-day tour from Ho Chi Minh City combines visits to Ho Chi Minh City, the Cu Chi tunnels and the Mekong Delta. You will learn about Vietnam’s wartime history as well as modern day life in the agricultural region at the mouth of the mighty Mekong River.
Day 1: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - Ho Chi Minh City (L)
You will be picked up from your hotel at 08.00 - 08.30am and drive for 90 minutes (60km) to Cu Chi Tunnels where you will spend the next couple of hours exploring the area and learning more about the history and the incredible tenacity and ingenuity of its inhabitants. The more adventurous of you will have the opportunity to crawl through the tunnels and to fire off some rounds from Ak47 or M16 assault rifles at the shooting range before driving back to Ho Chi Minh City for a lunch at Pho24 restaurant.
After lunch you will continue the tour with visiting the historic landmarks and sites of Ho Chi Minh City such as the Reunification Palace, the War Remnants Museum, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Old Post Office and Ben Thanh Market. You will be dropped off at your hotel.
DAY 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta in Ben Tre (L)
You are picked up from your hotel in the morning (08:00-08:30 am). depart from Saigon and head straight to Mekong Delta in Ben Tre (90 km/2 hours’ drive), crossing the impressive Rach Mieu Cable-stayed Bridge. Board a small boat to visit typical workplaces including small brick factories, a coconut-processing workshop and a local mat-weaving house.

You will stop at a quiet village, take a short walk and observe local life and hop on a xe-lôi (a kind of motorized rickshaw) to reach a riverside restaurant for a lunch with local food. Afterwards, you will take a short cycling tour to explore the surrounding fields before boarding a sampan for a tranquil trip along the picturesque canals. Come back to the port and continue to visit a local market before heading back to Ho Chi Minh City. You will be dropped off at your hotel.
