Day 1: Hanoi – Cuc Phuong National Park (L/D)
We will drive to Cuc Phuong National Park (officially opened in 1960 as the first national park in Vietnam) to visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, breeding and conservation of endangered primates as well as the protection of their habitats.
After lunch, depart to the Park Center and on the way visit the Cave of Early Man, an amazing historic find, dating back over 7000 years. Next, we will start on a long trek through the forest to learn about the diverse plant and animal life in the park. We will also make stops at Cho Chi, the oldest tree in the forest, as well as several picturesque streams and waterfalls. Overnight at guesthouse in Cuc Phuong National Park.
Day 2: Cuc Phuong National Park - Tam Coc (Three Caves) – Hanoi (B/L)
After breakfast, we will head to Tam Coc known to travelers as Vietnam’s “Inland Ha Long Bay”. This will be an exciting day highlighted by a two-hour boat ride in Tam Coc stream. You will enjoy spectacular scenery while gliding along the river among rice paddies and ranges of limestone mountain peaks towering above you.
After a local food lunch served at a riverside restaurant, we will take a short trip through the peaceful countryside to Hoa Lu, Vietnam’s ancient capital of the 10th and 11th centuries. Here, stand two temples dedicated to King Dinh and King Le. Then, we will return to Hanoi.
