Balthali is a small village about 40 km from the capital city of Nepal. It is situated at the junction of the Roshi River and the Ladhku River on the east side of Kathmandu Valley. This tour to Balthali village will be the most appropriate tour for anyone who wants a comfortable multi-day hike. This trip starts and ends at Kathmandu. High above the southern ridge of this exceptional hamlet stands the Balthali Village resort, an outstanding place of isolation and relaxation amidst the typical Nepali countryside with terraced rice fields and thatched farm houses. Overall, this is a relaxing area to explore and it remains relatively uncrowned compared to more popular routes in Nepal. Treks here take anywhere between three to six days and can be done all year-round.
Day 1: (L,D)
Early morning at 8am, you will be picked up from your hotel and taken on a short drive to Panauti (Approx. 40 KM from Kathmandu). From there you will walk for 30 to 45 min to reach the Balthali Village Resort. During the walk, you will get a chance to see one of the oldest hydroelectric projects of Nepal. Continue on to pass through a village with holy men and terraced fields. Upon reaching the Balthali Village Resort, welcome drinks will be served with light snacks. In the evening you will enjoy a camp fire with snacks and local wine made by the villagers. After that you will have a traditional Nepali dinner (dhindo or rice) with local chicken from the village.

Day 2: (B,L)
Get up early for a morning view of the sunrise. Have breakfast at the resort garden then hike towards a joint river where you will see a water mill and Ladkeshwor Temple situated inside the cave. Continue on to explore the Nepane Village (Typical Tamang Village). After exploring the lifestyle of a typical Tamang community, move down to Ladku River and then back to the resort. Enjoy lunch at the resort then head towards Khopasi where you will pass by a suspension bridge. Conclude your tour back at your hotel in Kathmandu.
