You will get to know the part of the World Heritage UNESCO, the historical part of Kutná Hora, the cathedrals in Sedlec and Kutná Hora, unique ossuary in Sedlec, you will visit the pilgrimage site in Zelená Hora and see the castle in Žďár nad Sázavou, the chateau in Litomyšl and the city Hradec Králové.
You will enjoy 2 days full of exploring the beautiful cities and places of the Czech Republic. After pick up you at your hotel at 8:00am will go to Sedlec ossuary where you visit a incredible cathedral. The chapel interior is quite remarkable. The decoration is made almost entirely of human bones. This building has been constructed as a reminder of the fact that human life is transient and death permanent. After exploring a nice architecture of the ossuary and cathedral in Sedlec will move to lovely town Kutná Hora where you see the main historical town in czech and visit St. Barbara’s Cathedral and the Church of St. Jacob. In this historical town will have a lunch when you can try a typical czech cuisine.
After rest and good luch will move to Zelená Hora. This place is famous for the extraordinary building of pilgrimage Church of St. Jan of Nepomuk. The pilgrimage Church of St. Jan of Nepomuk originated thanks to the cooperation of the two important men – the abbot of the Žďár monastery, Václav Vejmluva, and the genius architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel. Than we move to town Ždár nad Sázavou where you visit the most interesting places connected with an extraordinary architect Jan Blažej Santini-Aichel. You will get to know the life of the Cistercian monks, you will enter the personal house of an abbot a prelature, you will visit the Basilica of the Assumption of Virgin Mary and St. Nicholas, you will visit the dormitories of the monks – a convent, you will see the well chapel and former hatcheries from the 13th century.There will be ready for you an accomodation in lovely guesthouse and take a dinner in local restaurant.
Second day after breakfast (around 9am) will travel to city Litomyšl where visit the representative renaissance chateau of Litomyšl, built by Vratislav of Pernštejn in 1568-1581, was constructed at the place of a former Slavic fortress and the border castle of Slavníkovci family, rebuilt in the 15th century by Kostka from Postupice. In 1855, the chateau was purchased in a public auction by the Thurn-Taxis family, who owned the property until the end of World War II. In lovely Litomyšl stay for a lunch and than we move to our last stop to city Hradec Králové. The area around Hradec Králové was inhabited as early as in the prehistoric times. Archaeologists conclude that the site at the confluence of Labe and Orlice was inhabited in Roman Period as well. In 1225, the castle along with the market forecastle became the free royal city. During the rest of the 13th century, new gothic castle was constructed here and it quickly became a favourite place for the Premyslids. Our exploring will end around 5:30pm and go back to mother town of Czech Republic to Prague.
