Day 1 Istanbul - Gallipoli - Canakkale
This morning you will be collected from the lobby of your hotel between 06:00-07:00am. Depart for the 5 hour drive to Gallipoli. Stop for lunch at Eceabat before meeting your guide. This afternoon visit Anzac Cove and the Allied Memorials of World War I, including Brighton Beach, Lone Pine Australian Memorial War Cemetery, the original tunnels and trenches at Johnston Jolly, the Nek Cemetery, and Chunuk-Bair New Zealand Memorial and Cemetery. Cross the strategic straits of the Dardanelles by ferry and continue to Canakkale for overnight.
Day 2 Canakkale - Troy - Gallipoli - Istanbul
This morning visit ancient Troy. As recorded in Homer's "Illiad", the city of Troy was the home of Prince Paris. The excavations undertaken by Heinrich Schlieman in the late 1800’s, and others since, have revealed nine levels of civilisation dating back to 3000BC. Today however, the most obvious landmark is a replica of the wooden Trojan horse. Return to Canakkale and cross the Dardanelles by ferry for lunch at the Eceabat before departing for Gallipoli to visit the Kabatepe Simulation Center. From Gallipoli you will embark on an exclusive boat trip to the landing beaches, which offers the rare opportunity to view the area as the Anzacs saw it during their approach. Highlights of the cruise include viewing from sea Brighton Beach, Anzac Cove and the Anzac Commemorative site. You will also have the chance to snorkel above the sunken wreck of the SS Milo. Return to Eceabat to freshen up before departing at approximately 6:45pm for your return journey to Istanbul. The tour ends on arrival at your Istanbul hotel.
