Spending time both in Egypt and Jordan this 16 day tour begins in Cairo, explores the sites of the Nile Valley and relaxes by the Red Sea before crossing into Jordan where we drive up the King’s Highway visiting Petra, the Dead Sea and Amman.This is a wonderful 16 day tour that enables you to explore both Egypt and Jordan. We begin in bustling Cairo where we will take in all of the main historical sites, including the world renowned Egyptian Museum, Great Pyramid and the Giza Plateau. An overnight train takes us to Aswan to explore the beautiful and romantic temples of Philae and the impressive Aswan High Dam, leaving you time to also wander around the exciting souks and markets. There is an optional trip to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Abu Simbel to see the amazing temples built by Ramses II before your traditional felucca cruise takes you through the Nile Valley to Luxor. Here you will experience the incredible temples and world famous tombs of the Valley of the Kings, Karnak, Medinat Habu, Queen Hatchepsut and the Colossi of Memnon. We then head to the Red Sea Riviera at Hurghada for a couple of days to relax before flying to Jordan to continue our sightseeing. In Jordan we'll drive down the scenic King's Highway, visiting Kerak crusader castle en-route to the world famous UNESCO World Heritage Site of Petra, a highlight of any tour!. After time to explore here we visit Little Petra, enjoy a jeep safari and overnight Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum, see the Red Sea again at Aqaba, and float in the unique salty waters of the Dead Sea before finishing our tour back in Amman.
