Upon arrival in Lima at 6:40am you'll be transferred to your hotel. Spend the afternoon touring Lima, visiting Huaca Pucllana, the historic center of Lima, colonial buildings, the Central Bank Museum, San Francisco, and more.
Day 2: Andes
Fly to Arequipa, where you'll have the opportunity to walk around "the White City" and its surroundings. The architecture in the historic center is characterized by the prominence of ashlar, a volcanic stone with a white or soft pink color that is both lightweight and weatherproof.
Day 3: Colca Canyon
Travel by bus to Chivay (4 hours) including stops along the way with beautiful landscapes and scenery. Settle into your hotel, relax in the thermal baths, and have dinner at a folklore show.We pick you up between 7:30 and 8:00am.
Day 4: Cruz del Condor
Head to Cruz del Condor, where you can see the depth and beauty of Colca Canyon, and hopefully, condors. Head back towards Chivay en route to Puno, visiting a few small villages on the way. Sample the many restaurants, and if you'd like, buy gifts for the host family of the next leg of your journey.
Day 5: Uros Floating Islands
Travel by boat to the Uros Islands and the island of Luquina, where the people are known for being the best weavers in Peru. Go hiking, visit an island community, and stay overnight with a local family at Luquina Island.
Day 6: Taquile Island
Take a short boat ride to the neighboring Taquile Island, where you can tour the ruins and interact with the beautiful people there. Admire their famous intricate and fascinating weavings before returning to Puno.
Day 7: Cusco
Take a tour bus to Cusco, stopping at the following locations: Pukara, La Raya, Sicuani for a delicious buffet lunch, Raqchi, and Andahuyalillas.
Day 8: Explore Cusco
Enjoy a free day to explore Cusco by yourself. If you'd like, there's also an optional full-day walking tour of the Sacred Valley (not included).
Day 9: Aguas Calientes
Rise early and take a train (3.5 hours) to Aguas Calientes, where you can relax in the natural hot springs. There are also museums and orchid exhibits to visit.
Day 10: Machu Picchu
Rise early and take the bus to Machu Picchu for sunrise. Take a two-hour walking tour, and then explore the mysterious city at your own pace. Meet up with you group again in Aguas Calientes for lunch and to catch your train back to Cusco.
Day 11: Cusco
Spend the morning relaxing, enjoy a walking tour of the city (included), and then transfer to the airport for your flight to Lima.
